Our Church Home
|
Our 126th street facility is an answer to the prayers of Christ the Savior members, whose congregation literally grew too much too fast. And what a wonderful problem for us, since the Lord said ... "Follow me and I will make you Fishers of men & women." What an opportunity for us right here in Fishers, Indiana!
|
In 1982, the newly chartered Christ The Savior Lutheran Church met in the Fishers Lions Club, where planning began for their first church building at 11965 Allisonville Road. That building opened to 373 members in 1986, and by 1989, required the construction of an addition which more than doubled its space, to accommodate the 608 members that year. By 1996, it was obvious another move had to be made. Membership reached over 1600.
|
At that time, 35 acres of land became available to us for purchase that year. And planning was begun for our new building which was completed in 2000, located at 10500 East 126th Street in Fishers.
The new building, developed by The McKnight Group, a respected regional firm, and its construction affiliate, incorporates a widely used multi-purpose design to utilize space most effectively, with maximum cost efficiency. Peak usage for Sunday services can be matched with weekday programs and usage with a minimum of alteration.
The church body felt strongly that the need to fill a community service took precedence over a formal "dedicated" sanctuary-only building at the present time. That will come later in another phase, with the Lord willing. Today, we see the promise of our efforts.
One of the most heartening sights to CTS members is the new steeple rising to an inspiring height (at least for Fishers) to announce to the community... "We're here for you."

(A Prophesy!) The Café will prove to be one of the important meeting spots for staff, congregation, and guests alike. Altogether, our new building, with its soft muted decor, spacious interior, and lofty (literally) ceilings will say "WELCOME!" to CTS family and guests over the years to come. |
Come make it your church home!
