Threes to Fives This is a fun and active stage in your child's life.  We are excited to have each child in Stepping Stones and look forward to teaching them that God loves them, God made them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever.

First Look

We believe that it is our responsibility to introduce children age 3 through 5 to their heavenly Father.  Before they leave Stepping Stones, we want them to know;

• God made me.
• God loves me.
• Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Every month we focus on one of these three basic truths.  Each Sunday your child will learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach the one key truth for the month.

   

What Happens on Sunday Morning

We want Sunday to be the best day of your child's week.  The following information will help you understand what the Sunday morning experience is like.  Sunday morning is divided into several segments: 

• Make it fun activity - designed to grab their attention
• Big group time - when they hear a creative presentation of a Bible story and participate in worship, where they are encouraged to sing and interact with their leaders.
• Small group - allows time for children to talk about what they'ver learned that day and what it means to their young lives.  They will also pray together as we teach them what it means to talk to God.  They will conclude small group with a fun hands-on experience to help them better understand the key truth of the day.

What to Bring

We hope that the following information will help you and your child have a great experience on Sunday morning.   

• If your child is potty training, please communicate that to teachers and bring an extra change of clothes.
• Please label all items that belong to your child.
• Please do not bring extra toys, since it is hard to distinguish what belongs to whom.  This can cause the child unnecessary frustration when they are asked to share something that was brought from home.

Small Talk

While we seek to teach your children about God, we know that no one has more influence on their lives than you.  We want to partner with you to help them learn more about their heavenly Father.  SMall Talk is our monthly early childhoon communication piece for parents.  This will tell you what your child learned that day including the key truth and the bottom line for the month.  This resource provides creative ideas that will hlep you take advantage of teachable moments in your home and reinforce what was taught on Sunday morning.

 

Promotion

Children are promoted to the next classroom based upon the school calendar.  Parents will be notified at the time of promotion.
