As a student ministry, we hope that after a student’s journey with us is complete that they will be reminded of these three essential truths:
Roots group joins in circle prayer after outdoor games.
- I am created to pursue an authentic relationship with my Creator (wonder)
- I belong to Christ and define who I am by what He says (discovery)
- I exist every day to demonstrate God’s love to a broken world (passion)
The three experiences of wonder, discovery and passion can be defined by certain core truths that we believe are “the end in mind,” the end goal of what we want a student to believe when he or she moves into adulthood.
At its core, wonder, discovery and passion are really just another way of phrasing what Jesus said was the greatest commandment, the summary of all the other commandments: “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’” (Matthew 22:37-39 NIV).
Student ministry is organized around the following age groups:
|
5th & 6th
Roots is a place where middle school youth can connect with friends, grow as a person, and become AWARE of their faith in God. 5th and 6th graders are invited to become a part of Roots on Thursday night from 6:30-8:00 pm. We begin in the snack shop connecting with friends, we then move outside or to the ARC for games, a lesson, small group time and prayer.
Roots meets Thursdays September through the end of April. We wrap up the year with our annual Roots Survivor Challenge! Be sure to check the schedule for additional activities and service opportunities on a regular basis. Come be a part! Learn more about Roots. Roots Blog.

7th & 8th
Crosstrainers is our Confirmation program where teens are AWAKENED in their faith and understanding of God’s Word. The confirmation class meets on Sunday mornings and consists of large group time and small group time. After Crosstrainers students have the option to join their families for the 10:45 am service or to volunteer to serve in our Children’s Ministry.
At the beginning of the year 7th grade students are assigned to a small group of 5-6 of their peers, an adult leader and 1-2 high school peer guides. Students will stay with these small groups for the two years they are in the confirmation program.

Our Philosophy of Student Ministry - ACTS
|
Attract
We want to attract students to Christ and to the ministry of Christ The Savior.
Connect
We want to connect students to God and fellow students already connected to Christ The Savior.
Transform
We want students lives to transform into the likeness of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Send
We want to send students out to be the hands and feet of Christ so we can influence our community and impact our world.

|
We strive to align our ministry with the church in a family ministry approach. For us, this means: an effort to synchronize church leaders and parents around a master plan to build faith and character in their sons and daughters.
