The Unfolding Story began as a prayerful vision for the future of Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. It includes nine areas that will allow us to show Christ’s love to the community in different ways. Vision is becoming reality as our story continues to unfold.
Improving the landscape and pathways to provide spaces to appreciate God’s creation. Come sit on one of the four benches on the grounds, enjoy the landscape and dwell with God.
Caring for the whole person of God – mind, body and spirit – through prayer and compassion. This ministry includes prayer and blessing with groups and individuals, worship and prayer centered in healing, and opportunities for improving wellness such as visits with therapy dogs, health coaching and more.
Sharing fresh, locally grown vegetables with our neighbors who are served by Hamilton County food banks. Christ the Savior Lutheran Church has partnered with the Rotary Club and developed project based learning opportunities for New Britton Elementary, Hamilton Southeastern High Schools and the FFA .
Sharing the love of Jesus with students and families as they learn and grow in faith-based early childhood education. Noah’s Ark is pursuing accreditation with the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association (ELEA) and has completed several steps toward this goal: a self study, reformatting the staffing module to a lead and associate teacher in each classroom, and creating learning stations.
Creating connections, building character and encouraging fitness among all ages and abilities through sports and leisure activities. Construction of youth fields is being explored. The timeline of this project is closely tied to that of Simeon’s Square as the movement of dirt will take place for both projects simultaneously to best utilize resources.
Allowing music and the arts to encourage people to express the movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives and the world.
A housing community for active senior adults (age 55+) located on church property. A Community Center will offer flexible space for seniors and Noah’s Ark Preschool & Kindergarten students to interact, allowing seniors to share their wisdom and the children to share their wonder. A project timeline is being developed.
Engaging and supporting students with various abilities and challenges.
Outside the Box is an after school program for students with developmental disabilities that meets at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. It is designed to address the particular challenges faced by families of students with special needs. If you know of a family struggling with after-school care and programming for a differently-abled student – let them know that Outside the Box and Christ the Savior have an option for them to explore! You can learn more about the work of Outside the Box at otbonline.org.
We work with Youth Mentoring Initative (YMI) to train mentors to work with at-risk students in Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
