We want children, babies - 4th grade, to know that they are uniquely and wonderfully made by God and that they have a role in the church, even at a young age. We value the role of parents as the primary influence in their children’s lives. That’s why we partner with you in your child’s spiritual growth.

Sundays during 8:45 and 10:45 worship

Each week, children hear one of the same Bible readings that parents hear in the worship center, and they explore this reading through hands-on learning and play. We equip parents with resources you can use at home to guide age-appropriate discussion about the weekly lesson.

PRAYGround

This space is set aside for children under the age of 4 to meaningfully engage in both worship and play alongside a parent or caring adult.

Check-in Process

If you are a first-time guest, stop by the Welcome Center to learn what's available for your child that day.

If you are a member or a regular attender, and your child is currently enrolled, you can sign in at a check-in kiosk. Simply search by the last four digits of your phone number, then select your family name. Click check-in for those who are attending. Your child will receive a name tag and you’ll receive an ID tag with a matching number. Just click Print Badges and Finish. Your child will not be released from his or her classroom until we receive the matching ID number tag back from you at pick up.

Safety

All of our professional and volunteer staff have completed background checks. Should we need to contact you during worship, your child’s ID number will display on our worship center screens.

Curriculum

We teach the same curriculum at each worship service.

Sundays during 8:45 and 10:45 worship

We believe children grow in faith through experiences. On Sunday mornings, children in kindergarten through 4th grade experience worship with family and meaningful faith formation with friends. Children begin in worship with their families praising and praying. After the children's message, they leave the worship space to hear a Bible stoy and engage in age appropriate conversation and games. Children rejoin their parents for communion.

Our First Communion Faith Milestone is designed to prepare children in Kindergarten – 4th grade to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion in a way that is meaningful for their developmental stage. This program is just the beginning of learning about this sacrament. Older children who have not yet had formal preparation for this sacrament and are interested in receiving Holy Communion may contact Nicole Sinders to learn more about options for older students.

What is included in the First Communion Faith Milestone?

We believe that parents are the primary faith mentors to their children. In order to assist parents in helping their children to receive the gift of God’s grace that is given in communion we support parents with:

  • A First Communion Workshop for the child and parents
  • At-home resources with a guide for continued learning, videos and family activities led by parents at home
  • A dessert reception to celebrate this milestone and rehearse for First Communion Sunday

How do I know if my child is ready to receive Holy Communion?

Read more about First Communion Readiness.

If you determine your child is ready to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, begin having conversations at home and register your child for the First Communion Faith Milestone.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss First Communion, please contact Robin Patras.

Each summer, we host a high-energy VBS for children in kindergarten through 4th grade. Monday through Friday, children sing and dance, hear Bible stories, watch engaging skits, play games and more. We want children to know and experience just how much Jesus loves them … and that following Jesus is fun!
