We strive to create a place for 5th-12th grade students to connect with each other, get to know Jesus and find joy in serving.

This is the time in students’ lives that bridges the gap from Elementary School to Jr. High. It’s also when friends begin to become more important. That’s why our 5th & 6th grade students have several social and service opportunities throughout the year to help them connect with other students their age.

Sunday Mornings

August through April, 5th & 6th grade students worship with their families on Sunday mornings until the children’s message. After the children’s message, students are dismissed to small group breakouts designed just for them. They return to the worship center for Communion and continue to worship with their families until the worship time concludes. May through July, 5th & 6th grade students experience the full worship service with their families.

Youth Group

Wednesdays | 6:30 to 7:45 pm
August (beginning August 8) through April, 5th and 6th grade students meet midweek for games, snacks, social and small group time.

Social & Service Events

A mix of social and service opportunities are available for 5th & 6th grade students throughout the year. Building relationships with other students their age lets students know that there are others like them. Others that love Jesus and choose to live for Him. Service events teach students to think beyond themselves and let them know that they can make a difference in the lives of others now, no matter their age. It is during 7th and 8th grade that many students will attend Confirmation classes. Confirmation is a time of faith development designed to equip 7th & 8th grade students with the ability to express their faith and live confidently in God’s promises. In addition to Confirmation, students experience fun games, music and service opportunities that are designed just for them.

Sunday mornings

9:30 to 10:40 am | the ARC
August through the beginning of May, students have both large group and small group time during Confirmation classes. During the summer, 8th grade students complete a series of family projects designed to prepare them for their confirmation of faith.

Social & Service Events

A mix of social and service opportunities are available for 7th & 8th grade students throughout the year. These events help build relationships and let students know they belong. Prayer Partners

Each 8th grade student is paired with a prayer partner during their second year of Confirmation. This person is someone who has committed to praying daily for the student and encouraging him/her as they prepare for their Confirmation. Prayer partners must be high school age or older. If a younger student would like to be a prayer partner, they may do so if a parent will also partner with them. Contact for additional information.

Youth Praise Band

Students in 7th-12th grade are invited to share their vocal and instrumental talents with the Youth Praise Band, Undignified. The band leads worship during special services and other events throughout the year.

9th-12th grade students will soon launch into the world beyond their childhood home. We strive to equip high school students to become key members of the church through the college years and beyond. We do this through large group and small group meetings, and a variety of opportunities for students to lead and serve others.

We want our college-aged students to stay close to Christ and each other, even when they venture away to schools near and far. Several times a year, we send encouragement to our college students in the form of care packages and handwritten notes. You can submit new or updated college addresses below.

Submit College Student's Address

Encouragement through the mail is not enough. College students need a community of friends that is close in proximity to provide them opportunities to express their faith. Use this referral tool to find a ministry near your college student. If you're looking for a school that is not listed, Lutheran Campus Ministry will direct your referral to the nearest ELCA Lutheran church.
