Seasons of Change
October 30, 2018
Warren Wiersbe once said “The world changes – circumstances change, we change – but God’s word never changes.” How true!
You know, change has certainly been the one word to describe the world the Lotridge family has been living into here in 2018. Ann Marie and I had spent almost a quarter century in South Bend, Indiana. That’s a long time in one place. A place that was familiar. A place that was comfortable. A place we called home.
God called us out of what was familiar. God called us out of what was comfortable. God called us to consider change and a new place to call home. Home in Noblesville, Indiana serving alongside the body of Christ at Christ the Savior Lutheran Church in Fishers. This change was universal. New town, new vocational roles, new schools for the kids, new friendships, and list goes on.
Yet in the midst of this change, God’s love, grace, mercy, and understanding has not changed. God has met us as we unpacked each box. God has met us as we took the kids to their first day of school. God has met us as we walked into Christ the Savior for the very first time for worship. God has met us in all these ways and so much more.
God has done so by providing a network of incredible people who have met us in this season of change. People who have met us with open hands and hearts. People who have helped us embrace change one day at a time. People who have been the hands and feet of Jesus to us. People who have turned the unfamiliar into the familiar. People who have helped us call this new change – home. Thanks be to God for the seasons of change in our lives!
