God is writing a Big Story! We want kids to know God’s stories in the Bible and their part in the story God is writing today. We recognize families and the home are the center of faith formation. When home and church are on the same page working together, we can have a greater impact on each child’s lifelong faith formation. We offer programs, tools, and resources for kids and families to grow closer to each other and closer to God.
The safety and security of children and youth is of the upmost importance to us at Christ the Savior. Kids programs are staffed with caring adults who are ready to share God’s love with your child. All of our professional and volunteer staff have completed thorough background checks.
A secure, computerized check-in system is in use. Registration for Kids Ministry is required annually. Each child in the system receives a printed name tag each time they attend any of the programs at our church. Along with the child’s name, the tag will list the child’s group assignment, a unique ID code and primary contact phone number for emergencies. Parents receive a tag with the identical code that will serve as identification whenever picking up a child. Should we need to contact you during worship, we will text the number on your child's name tag.
First Time Visitors
If your child has never attended any of our church programs and is not currently registered in Kids Ministry, please stop by the Kids & Youth Check-in table located by the main entrance. You will be greeted by one of our hospitality volunteers where you can complete a Kids Ministry Registration, receive a guest name tag for the day, and receive a special welcome gift.
A child’s faith is formed through relationships and experiences. Kids are always welcome in worship. There are many options for kids and families during worship.
A unique kid-friendly space set aside in the Worship Center for ages 3 and under to meaningfully engage in worship and play alongside a parent or caregiver. Siblings are welcome to sit in nearby chairs.
All ages are welcome in Room 112 to bring your own grown up to play and get the wiggles out! The worship service is live streamed for listening.
These stations are located behind the center chair sections and provide quiet activities for kids 4 and up to engage meaningfully in worship. Worship Kits include a “notes” page, pipe cleaners, fruit snacks, crayons, and a sticker. Worship wands and other materials to borrow are also available.
The First Communion Faith Milestone is offered for children in Kindergarten – 4th grade. We support parents in getting their child ready for this sacrament with a First Communion family workshop, preparation activities to complete together at home, and dessert reception to celebrate this milestone. The only requirement for Holy Communion is baptism. If your child is baptized and is already receiving communion, your child may receive communion here. If you have questions about Holy Communion for your child, please speak with a pastor or contact Robin Patras, Director of Children’s Ministry.
We believe children grow in their faith through experiencing God’s love through stories, relationships, and living out their faith. Faith Time is a special time for kids to gather with friends, share a Bible story, and respond with an activity or experience.
Faith Time for ages one - Pre-Kindergarten
Faith Time for these ages is offered every Sunday. Each week, children hear one of the same Bible readings that parents hear in the Worship Center and they explore this reading through hands-on learning and play. Once your child is checked in, you may drop off them off before worship begins or anytime during worship.
Faith Time for Kindergarten - 4th Grade
Faith Time is offered most Sundays during the school year. On holiday breaks, special worship Sundays and during the summer kids will participate in the full worship experience. On Faith Time Sundays kids begin in worship with their families praising and praying. After the children's message, they leave the Worship Center to hear a Bible story as a large group and then respond to the story in small group crews. The Bible stories are presented by a variety of lively storytellers and drama teams. The activities are engaging and incorporate a variety of learning styles. Kids rejoin their parents in worship for communion.
Our First Communion Faith Milestone is designed to prepare children in Kindergarten – 4th grade to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion in a way that is meaningful for their developmental stage. This program is just the beginning of learning about this sacrament. Older children who have not yet had formal preparation for this sacrament and are interested in receiving Holy Communion may contact Pastor Todd Lotridge to learn more about options for older students.
What is included in the First Communion Faith Milestone?
We believe that parents are the primary faith mentors to their children. In order to assist parents in helping their children to receive the gift of God’s grace that is given in communion we support parents with:
- A First Communion Workshop for the child and parents
- At-home resources with a guide for continued learning, videos and family activities led by parents at home
- A dessert reception to celebrate this milestone and rehearse for First Communion Sunday
How do I know if my child is ready to receive Holy Communion?

Noah’s Ark Preschool & Kindergarten is a ministry of Christ the Savior Lutheran Church. We believe that children are uniquely and wonderfully made by God. Our weekday preschool and kindergarten provides a rich environment for your child to create, explore, learn and grow.
Each summer, we host a high-energy VBS for children in kindergarten through 4th grade. Monday through Friday, children sing and dance, hear Bible stories, watch engaging skits, play games and more. We want children to know and experience just how much Jesus loves them … and that following Jesus is fun!
