Covenant

The difference between a contract and a covenant is similar to the difference between purchasing a house and making wedding vows.  Contracts, like the endless pages of mortgage document, legally bind us to certain responsibilities.  A covenant, like wedding vows, commits us to a promise of loving relationship.  Scripture reveals a God of covenant, and throughout the season of Lent, we’ll explore the promises of God made known in covenants, and how they shape our faith.  It’s a season that leads us to the greatest promise of all, God’s love revealed in the cross and resurrection of our Lord.
